The disruption of the Olympic torch rally by supporters of Ti bet Nationalist movement reminds me of similar struggle that happened during 1968 Olympics.

1968 Olympics was remembered for two things. One was Bob Beemen and the other was Black Power Salute by U.S.Athletes. John Carlos and Tommie Smith the two athletes hung their heads during the medal ceremony in protest against the treatment meted out by white people to African Americans. It became a famous visual in T.V.s .Rest of the world noted their anger in support. But what happened to them afterwards is a sad story. Both were victimized and hounded out by U.S. establishment and their supporters. If you stand against on any principle you have to bear some sacrifices. But these two U.S. athletes have suffered more than what can endure.
